Over the past few months we’ve had the pleasure of working with Jean Johnson of Bobbin Designs.  She creates hand-sewn cards incorporating incredible materials like feathers, stingray, alligator, and more.  Her stationery is sold in stores across the country.

The former logo for Bobbin Designs was very personal to Jean and had several subtle references to her family.   We were charged with reinventing the logo while building on those personal details.

Jean’s request for her new logo was that it be more dynamic while preserving those personal elements.  She shared some very touching stories about her father and his love for turkey hunting.  He had given her several turkey feathers and a turkey foot which she loaned us for the initial research portion of this process.

We started with several study drawings of feathers and turkey feet.  It wasn’t long before we arrived at what would become her final brand design.

With the logo revision complete, we moved on to a photo shoot and collateral design.
